Starting next week, women in Dallas can order immediate salon service through a cell phone app.
Blownaway, the on-demand beauty service, will be available in the App Store on July 7.
Smoot Carter, co-founder of GoodLook Holdings, Inc., developed the idea for the app after meeting with Uber CEO Travis Kalanick at a conference last year. The two began discussing on-demand mobile service and the popularity of the 'blowout' in the women's beauty space.
'In launching Blownaway, we sought to craft a seamless and stunning mobile experience for clients - while offering a great opportunity for freelance stylists to earn income in their downtime,' Carter said in a statement.
Users book an appointment by choosing a hair style, selecting a date and time and choosing a location. The stylist comes to you.
Carter's company closed its initial pre-launch seed funding round of $185,000 from Dallas and California angel investors.
'We are very thankful for the support of our team, early investment partners, and the Dallas community.' he said.
